Sample Kits Speak Up

Finding ways to leverage branding is a goal of marketing divisions across the world. Depending on the product and the organization, this looks different when it comes to packaging. But sometimes, it's nothing less than serendipitous. Like with these sample kits we created for OCA energy drink.

Designing Sample Kits

As you might guess, sample kit design varies widely. Products require different packaging styles, which in turn can inform the variety of options available. Sunrise has experience in accommodating many different factors. While we might not say that the sky is the limit, we can make a lot of things happen.

But while some features might be compromised, things like color, content and a vibrant presence never need to be. The sample kits we created for the beverage to the side are great examples of this. Food or drink items have special needs that a non-perishable item doesn't. But in this design, we were able to cleanly integrate everything from solid foam for item safety to nutritional information. We're in love with the bright colors and quite literal pop of this particular product design.

Frustration Free Packaging

Frustration free packaging extends to making compromises on your ideas and vision. At Sunrise, we go above and beyond to make sure that your packaging and box design for sample kits is fully realized to the best of our ability. No matter what your budget or market regulations might indicate, we can provide your company with a range of options and recommendations.

If you've got ideas, we've got solutions. Let's meet in the middle and chat.

Sample Kit Case Study

We often think of a sample kit as a way to introduce people to a new product. But sometimes, it's part of a strategy to reintroduce folks to a brand.

Bose is a well-known brand (to put it mildly). Words like quality and innovative are synonymous with their products. But in recent years, an increase in competition has led them to rethink their strategy.

Sample Kit Design

You're getting ready to listen to some music - what are you using?

There are a few choices these days. Maybe you said Air Pods, or Beats by Dre. Pods, buds, or over ear headphones, there's no lack of options nowadays for music. This is where Bose opted to revitalize their marketing strategy, and worked with us to create a sample kit for their flagship product.

The sample kit we designed with them is a cigar style box with soft Nuba wrap, popping with 4 color printing in their trademark brand. The die cut sleeve teases a glimpse of the color, and adds a pop of flair to the kit. Overall, the effect is classic and enticing.

Where a Sample Kit Fits in an OmniChannel Campaign

Sample kits play an important part in any omnichannel marketing campaign. They're the perfect point to pull together the messaging and graphics utilized via media outlets. By balancing branding and marketing, sample kits can be used to reach influencers, the target market, and beyond, all while reinforcing a brand built on high quality products.

Creating custom boxes for Bose is an important project on a big stage. But at Sunrise, we bring our A game to projects of every size. Are you looking to revitalize your brand? Whatever the scale, we can help. Give our sales team a call to get started.

The Simplified Sample Kit

There's a time and a place for ornamentation in packaging. Especially when it comes to sales and marketing. But when it comes to sample kits--that first taste that customers get of a product--it's usually best to keep it simple.

Simplicity is a concept that we champion at Sunrise, and for more reasons than the fact that minimalism is a major trend right now. Simplicity means uncluttered communication. It removes the potential for misunderstanding and confusion. Not to mention visual discomfort and dissonance.

Sample Kit Simplicity

It's easy to fall into the trap of including too much within a packaging concept. A sample kit is the perfect example of a piece which is easy to over-design in an attempt to impress the recipient.  Everyone wants their products to sell; they want their products to make an impact, and to leave an impression.

But it's important to consider the type of impression that's going to be left. If a sample kit is tricky or awkward to open, for example, it automatically puts a bad taste in the user's mouth. Too much text, overly-contrasting colors and fonts, any number of elements can make for a confusing experience. Less is more, they say, and it's especially true when we consider how to craft clear sample kits.

As you consider your sample kit, think first of the experience you want your user to have. How does it echo the experience the product seeks to deliver? What elements will best serve that end? It can be hard to put these ideas into words, and even harder to translate it into packaging. That's where Sunrise Packaging comes in.

Within our experience, we've worked with culling down elements from overzealous marketers and designers. We can help define scope as necessary, framing your project within the necessary parameters of a sample kit. Contact us today!

Creative Sample Kits for Creative Coverings

As a consumer, making big decisions requires time and thought. Particularly when it comes to things like carpet, flooring, curtains, and other items that require consideration in orchestration with the rest of your home. Imagine painting a wall. When choosing a color, you want to know how it looks in different lighting? Coordinates with the furniture? The best way to do this is via sample kits.

Just like the products they hold, sample kits come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The variety reflects the unique qualities of the organization. As extensions of your brand, and of the product itself, designing a sample kit shouldn't be an afterthought.

Sample Kits for Example

Sunrise Packaging recently completed a project with Creative Coverings. Creative Coverings rents and sells luxury linens for weddings and other events. This sample kit will be house fabrics for potential customers. These fabrics, in brilliant colors, textures and patterns, are the true focus of the kit. When it comes to designing for such rich products, we know that simplicity equals elegance.

The sample kits are covered in green linen paper, a forecast of the feel of the linens. It features crisp white handles with a white foil stamp. And while many organizations take advantage of our ability to create custom inserts, this project required a spacious interior for the linen variety.

Creative Coverings prides themselves as being creative, efficient, and current. We're loving that this partnership created a sample kit that exemplifies those qualities.
