Innovative Health Care Kits for Innovative Products

Medical research and development is an exciting field. Even as a packaging company, it's interesting to see what new products are coming, and how we can best create packaging to meet the product needs. One recent project that was particularly interesting was with Stryker. We worked with them to create health care kits for their biodegradable subacromial balloon spacer, the first of its kind.

“We are extremely excited about the clearance of InSpace because it provides a new surgical option for surgeons to address their unmet MIRCT needs in the shoulder continuum of care,” said Matt Moreau, Stryker’s Sports Medicine Vice President and General Manager. “We are committed to the advancement of shoulder arthroscopy, and InSpace offers a unique opportunity for us to better partner with our customers on their clinical objectives to improve patient outcomes around a very challenging pathology in the shoulder.”

Stryker Health Care Kits

This product is considered a pretty important medical breakthrough and a "game-changer:"

“Current strategies treating massive irreparable rotator cuff tears often present a challenge to surgeons and may require long and frustrating rehabilitation processes for patients,” said the lead investigator in the clinical study, Dr. Nikhil Verma, M.D. “The results of the study demonstrate the InSpace balloon is a ‘game-changer’ and presents a shorter, less invasive option that may enable sustained, clinically meaningful improvements in shoulder function and symptoms.”

Being able to create the packaging for this important product was a huge opportunity for Sunrise, and we're immensely proud of the result.

This packaging product contains a foam insert to hold materials in place. It also acts as a kind of protective barrier, especially important for products that have endure transit and potentially harsh temperature conditions. In that regard, we also went with digital printing for the outside of the box. The colors are robust and will keep their vibrancy over time.

Medical device projects require a high degree of flexibility and customization. Sunrise is pleased to be able to offer high quality in response for products over the years. And that's not a brag, it's a fact. When you're ready to work with the best on your heath care kits, reach out to the Sunrise team!

Medical Demo Kits

Demo kits have many functions, but at the heart of their purpose, it's about selling a product. Getting the attention of a customer, supporting the sales team, showcasing the product, and custom design? All of these purposes should be embedded in the design of your demo kit.

But what happens when the target audience for your demo kit is highly specialized? And the packaging needs for your demo kits requires a bit more scrutiny to meet international and federal regulations? Luckily, at Sunrise Packaging, we have plenty of experience with this type of demo kit creation. And, we can probably guess exactly the industry you're referring to: medical and healthcare.

Demo Kits for Healthcare

Sunrise has literal decades of experience working with a wide variety of medical device manufacturers, healthcare products, and more that are subject to similar regulations. Demo kits are a little different, as they need to support the sales team a bit more than B2C packaging might.  But the changes are easy to integrate, especially once companies know the right strategy.

In the example to the side, you can see a recent project we did on the Isolator Synergy EnCompass Clamp.  This particular style of custom medical packaging is a unique approach. You can see that the box itself creates a literal kind of stage for the product. The top flap opens to reveal not just the product but additional supporting content. It's premium packaging that showcases the clamp as well as assists sales with the custom design and printing.
