The ability to personalize items is long-loved tradition for people that goes back to literal centuries. Roman emperors, Greek generals, even Neanderthals felt the intrinsic need to put their unique stamp on their projects (or cave walls, as it were). And that desire hasn't changed or waned in the ensuing millennia, continuing in the age of packaging customization.

Customizing your organization's packaging for products, marketing, and more can be intense. While your branding can determine some aspects, the rest is wide open and dependent on budget, expectations, and intent. Which can take time to boil down. Luckily, Sunrise has an extensive manufacturing history and expertise.

Ideas for Packaging Customization

So what kinds of customization options are out there for packaging? Here's the short list:

  • Box design
Magnetic closure? Slide lids? Gate fold tops? There are a lot of different ways to design a box, and we can help you determine the best options.
  • Printing
Using multiple colors? Just one color? It all affects cost and final impression.
  • Lamination
Wrapping the box in lamination adds to the overall experience. Whether you go with something silky-smooth or a little more textured, there are subtle messages sent every time.
  • Decorations
From embossing, debossing, foil stamping and more, decorations add the sparkle. Literally.

When Less Isn't More

We have a few ideas that we go by when it comes to package design, and some of them go against conventional wisdom. The idea that "less is more" is true at many times. But when it comes to packaging, we feel that it's more appropriate to say that more is more. Our rationale? Taking advantage of more packaging customization brings more to the table... Within reason. For help finding out what that reasonable "more" is, contact our team to start the design process!
