Creativity and innovation stand on the shoulders of giants. Meaning that, everything that comes afterwards has to build on what came before. Still not entirely picking up what we're putting down? Let's look at some classic packaged products. 

Product packaging is a straightforward concept. You have a product, and it needs packaging for multitude of reasons. Security. Safety. Shelf life. The reasons go on. But just as there are a myriad of reasons for why packaging is needed, there are just as many potential packaging styles. And most of them started with a simple style. Like the cigar box. Or, the case of our most recent packaging innovation, the setup box

"Shouldering" Packaged Products

The basic setup box consists of two trays that slide together. It's a simple and relatively iconic design. Intuitive and accessible for all ages and abilities, it's popular for tech devices, tools, and more. It's also the basis of our new box style: the two piece set up shoulder box.

As you can see in the video and photos to the side, the "shoulder" is actually a small ledge on which the top tray of the setup box sits. Normally, a the top and bottom trays in setup boxes slide and overlap. The shoulder makes this box style even easier to open, and also adds an additional layer of protection to items inside. We love the presentation of the should set up box as well. The delight of a heightened reveal, or unboxing, is a simple joy that doesn't get enough credit. At least, we don't think so 😉
