Upscale Marketing Promotions

USB sticks might not be used as much as they once were, but that doesn't mean that we can't repurpose some of their inspirations. When we think about upscale marketing promotions, this is actually our top inspo for compact and effective packaging. Meet the Flashpad

The FlashPad is one of our flagship containers. As we said above, we initially designed it to hold custom USB drives, but the appeal goes far beyond just memory sticks. Car dealerships, mortgage companies, universities, and more have all utilized our FlashPad for different promotions. Here are just a few of the great and innovative approaches clients take.

Marketing Promotions That Go Beyond the FlashDrive

The FlashPad is a versatile packaging style that can speak volumes about your organization with just a little context.

  • Gift item. Initially, the FlashPad was a piece of conference swag. While conferences might feel like a thing of the past in these COVID-times, mortgage companies and realtors are repurposing that gift scenario by using FlashPads to hold gift cards or other small tokens of appreciation for clients.
  • Key fobs. Car dealerships and salesmen love that final wave goodbye off the lot. Our FlashPads give them a little more oomph by commemorating the new car experience by housing the extra keyfob of a new vehicle... Alongside the helpful sales person's business card.
  • Digital books, music, photos and more. Upscale marketing never sleeps. And that's especially true for artists of all types. Whether your medium is music, words, or photos, the FlashPad provides a safe home for your work and also provides an opportunity to give your users a little more.

These examples barely touch on the different ways that the FlashPad has met the needs of many businesses and products. Take a minute and reflect on your marketing needs. We guarantee that this might be the answer for more than one thing. If you are ready to talk and learn more about Sunrise Packaging, give us a call!

Sample Kits Speak Up

Finding ways to leverage branding is a goal of marketing divisions across the world. Depending on the product and the organization, this looks different when it comes to packaging. But sometimes, it's nothing less than serendipitous. Like with these sample kits we created for OCA energy drink.

Designing Sample Kits

As you might guess, sample kit design varies widely. Products require different packaging styles, which in turn can inform the variety of options available. Sunrise has experience in accommodating many different factors. While we might not say that the sky is the limit, we can make a lot of things happen.

But while some features might be compromised, things like color, content and a vibrant presence never need to be. The sample kits we created for the beverage to the side are great examples of this. Food or drink items have special needs that a non-perishable item doesn't. But in this design, we were able to cleanly integrate everything from solid foam for item safety to nutritional information. We're in love with the bright colors and quite literal pop of this particular product design.

Frustration Free Packaging

Frustration free packaging extends to making compromises on your ideas and vision. At Sunrise, we go above and beyond to make sure that your packaging and box design for sample kits is fully realized to the best of our ability. No matter what your budget or market regulations might indicate, we can provide your company with a range of options and recommendations.

If you've got ideas, we've got solutions. Let's meet in the middle and chat.

Software Company Marketing

Software company marketing efforts should be in alignment with a few things, and packaging or boxing of the physical components should be high on the list. Getting it right takes an understanding of your target market. Customer expectations, needs, and desires can help you decide how to design a software box. Alongside your branding and historic trends, obviously.

Sunrise Packaging has worked with many software organizations to design packaging for their products. While it might feel like most software is sold as downloads vs physical boxes, there are still some people who prefer the actual box style. These design decisions can also inform your online aesthetic (and vice versa).

Getting It Right: Packaging for Software Company Marketing

Understanding your customer base is the top way to ensure that you're delivering the right box or packaging style. As we noted above, many people are comfortable downloading software packages online. Others are not. Even if it means that the box they're buying off the shelf is empty and only holds a download key inside. The buyer might even have their machines offline for security reasons, meaning that they couldn't download something off the internet anyways. Slow speeds in remote regions or access limits are other reasons someone might purchase the physical software as well.

For those who are looking for that physical piece of software company marketing, the box is an important landmark for them. They are looking for familiar name and branding, as well as other standardized types of content. Engage with these people to be able to market to them effectively. In the example to the side, you can see how we assist software companies in designing USB drive packaging that keeps their software secure.

Engage With Your Audience

Audience engagement is the key to a lot of business. Knowing who they are, what they want and what problem your product solves for them will give you the empathy necessary to meet to their needs. This also means that you won't overwhelm them with options by providing them with the *right size* the first time.

Financial Marketing Kits

Financial marketing, for any organization, is about building trust with your customers. As your organization looks to the future at upcoming generations, it pays to know what their expectations are.

For example, millennials are coming into their own (financially speaking). They're the ones generating capital, the potential homebuyers and investors, and the audience most in demand for financial organizations. How are you marketing to them effectively? How are you sharing values and relating to them?

Financial Marketing for Every Institution

Relating to a generation of people is a tall order, but there are some universal techniques that can help you connect with millennial marketing tactics. According to Digital Authority, millennials are looking for specific things when they're choosing financial services:

  1. Incentives
Introductory offers and better incentives than their current institution are surefire draws.
  2. Awards and savings
Offering awards and saving them money on fees or other things is key to marketing to millennials.
  3. Digital services
92% of millennials pick their institution based on the digital services they offer. Basically, if they never have to physically set foot in a place, the better.

Additionally, millennials are big on personal referrals. Knowing someone who has had a good experience (and is willing to talk about it) is a great way to generate interest and business. One way that an organization can do that is by producing Instagrammable moments, like these marketing kits we created for Fifth Third Bank.

In these financial marketing pieces, you can see how Fifth Third integrated their brand into the design not only by the using their color palette, but by customizing the boxes' interior tray and magnetic flap. We love how this piece is bright and bold, and best of all, prominently features the financial organization.

Creating pieces that a customer wants to photograph isn't always the most intuitive process for financial services. Luckily, though, it is an area we have some experience in. Partner with Sunrise Packaging to start marketing to the Instagram generation. Contact our team today!

Startup Gift Boxes

There are no hard-and-fast rules for becoming a successful startup. And what we do know seems to change regularly, with businesses changing the norm and going against the grain to make an impact in their market. It's about making an impact and an impression. Creating that perfect package isn't easy, but at least we can help create that literal package in the form of startup gift boxes.

Gaining capital and wooing investors takes a special skillset. And gift boxes can soften any skillset or less than desirable first impressions. We know it's not always prudent to blow money on something that investors might view as a waste of cash, which is why Sunrise can provide you with options for startup gift packaging on a budget that doesn't look like it came out of the bargain box.

Impressions with Startup Gift Boxes

Your business needs to be able to scale, and we take the same approach with our product line. However, while our custom boxes might run into higher numbers than you'd like to spend, we have options in the midrange and lower. The best part is that they don't have to look like they cost less than our upscale packaging. With a variety of finishing options available, you can upgrade your box for less in a variety of ways.

Foil stamping, for example, is a great way to add literal sparkle to any package. And it's a process that can work on many materials, and can elevate the right design. You can also consider different finishing options like soft touch lamination, or laser printing, to name a few high-end options.

Hand Over the Reins

If you've spent time and tears on your company, it's hard to relinquish any part of it. But with our years of experience at Sunrise Packaging, you can ease up. Building off of your input and ideas, we can bring your startup gift boxes into reality efficiently and as budget-friendly as you need to be. When you're ready to create an impact with your investors, contact us.

Custom Boxes for Next Level Marketing

It's not a stretch to say that designing custom boxes is kind of our thing.

Customization can mean many thing, and varies from product to product. For some customers, it might just mean integrating aspects of their brand in the colors and printing design for the package. And for others, it might be a total reimagining of an existing box structure.

But it doesn't matter what premise our customers are starting from, it's about where we can take it. Having the vision for designing something that brings together seemingly disparate elements to create a cohesive package is something we take a lot of pride in being to do. And one of the most popular box styles - the cigar box - is a great starting point for building off of.

Custom Boxes Make the Difference

A cigar box is, on the surface, exactly what you imagine. Flap top, hard sides, maybe wrapped or turned style edges. But level it up to meet your marketing needs.

Add a magnet for closure. A soft touch lamination. Embossing or debossing. It's immediately a lot more appealing, and a lot more than just a cigar box now. Take a look at the example to the side. In this product, designed for human resources company ADP, we created a promotional marketing piece that combines several box styles like our mag box, the cigar box premise, and more. While the functionality is clear, the design adds another element of customization. ADP has unique content and a clear sense of design. Combined, those factors help us understand their vision and how designing custom boxes aids that vision.

Packaging & Your Custom Marketing Plan

Modern marketing has many faucets. Analytics, social media, traditional print and beyond. Where does packaging figure in?

We'd argue that packaging design should be in the forefront of any marketing plan, whether your business is customer facing or B2B. When you look at your organization's collateral, what's the impression it gives off? If the impression is along the lines of, 'We need some custom boxes ASAP!' we're here for you.

Luxury Packaging For All

Luxury packaging is about more than just high-end consumer goods.

When we think about the term, certain things come to mind. Watches. Jewelry. Perfume and cologne. And many more. But in reality, many elements of luxury packaging are found in everyday items. And maybe in places that would surprise you. Medical and healthcare packaging is one industry that frequently utilizes common elements of luxury packaging.

Everyday Luxury Packaging

When you think about it, it's not so surprising that medical and healthcare boxes are so similar to luxury packaging. These items are generally expensive--like the products we mentioned above--and need careful and innovative packaging to maintain their integrity. A watch packaged with a fluffy cushion in a hard case looks sharp, but also needs that protection to stay whole. The same goes for many medical devices. In the example to the side, you can see a recent project we created for Starkey Labs. A brand known for quality, service and empathy, we worked closely with them to ensure that this product not only emphasized those brand attributes, but also was also an accessible piece for their clients.

Luxury For All

We used several luxury packaging principles in creating this piece, which houses hearing aids and supporting items. The soft touch lamination and offset printing create an approachable impression full of soothing stability. The thermoformed tray and other elements keep the items safe and secure in place.  These are elements that wouldn't be out of place in, say, a box holding designer perfume. Luxury is more than a price point at Sunrise Packaging. It's a leveler for equality.

Growth Strategies for CBD Packaging

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is one of the most popular wellness products to emerge in the last few years. With revenue in the billions--and no sign of slowing--it's not an understatement to say the market is hot.  And with a hot market comes an influx of products and grades of CBD packaging.

One of the major difficulties every brand faces is how to stand apart in a market. It's even harder with an increasingly-saturated market. As scientific evidence mounts in support of CBD oil, it's more important than ever for a product to find its footing, its audience and its packaging appeal.

Why CBD Packaging Matters

Brand differentiation is key to gaining a foothold in the CBD market. And one of the most effective ways to do that is to have unique packaging. Depending on how your business operates - storefront, mail order or otherwise - there's a benefit to investing in quality boxes for your CBD products.

The obvious reason is to protect your products during shipping and transportation in general. Most CBD also benefits from cool, dark spaces, and Sunrise can craft custom foam inserts for this reason. But there's the shelf appeal to packaging, and that extends far from the classic shopping trip. With the popularity of unboxings on Instagram and TikTok, video reviews through Reels and YouTube, the visibility of a product has never been higher. Ensuring that your customers (or influencers) have an experience to share is the best use of your marketing dollars.

Growing Quality Content

Content creation is another hot part of any marketing strategy. Marketing teams can do this, naturally. But leveraging user generated content is even better. When customers are excited by a product and want to share it, it's definitely a bonus. Crafting experiences that customers want to share starts with crafting unique packaging.

Sample Kit Case Study

We often think of a sample kit as a way to introduce people to a new product. But sometimes, it's part of a strategy to reintroduce folks to a brand.

Bose is a well-known brand (to put it mildly). Words like quality and innovative are synonymous with their products. But in recent years, an increase in competition has led them to rethink their strategy.

Sample Kit Design

You're getting ready to listen to some music - what are you using?

There are a few choices these days. Maybe you said Air Pods, or Beats by Dre. Pods, buds, or over ear headphones, there's no lack of options nowadays for music. This is where Bose opted to revitalize their marketing strategy, and worked with us to create a sample kit for their flagship product.

The sample kit we designed with them is a cigar style box with soft Nuba wrap, popping with 4 color printing in their trademark brand. The die cut sleeve teases a glimpse of the color, and adds a pop of flair to the kit. Overall, the effect is classic and enticing.

Where a Sample Kit Fits in an OmniChannel Campaign

Sample kits play an important part in any omnichannel marketing campaign. They're the perfect point to pull together the messaging and graphics utilized via media outlets. By balancing branding and marketing, sample kits can be used to reach influencers, the target market, and beyond, all while reinforcing a brand built on high quality products.

Creating custom boxes for Bose is an important project on a big stage. But at Sunrise, we bring our A game to projects of every size. Are you looking to revitalize your brand? Whatever the scale, we can help. Give our sales team a call to get started.

Nonprofit Marketing 2020 Plans

Nonprofits have unique needs that are different than for-profit organizations and corporations. Nonprofits want to grow their donations, increase volunteer interest, and more. It's about raising awareness and inspiring people to donate their money and their time. Which is why nonprofit marketing needs a leg up from time to time.

Hubspot sums it up well:

...Marketing for nonprofits can help you attract new supporters for your cause, connect to valuable donors, engage your constituents, and inspire your community.

At Sunrise, we can help you create material that support these varied marketing needs and audiences.

Supporting Nonprofit Marketing

At Sunrise, we have a variety of materials and products that can be easily adapted to the needs of nonprofits. Using a templated item reduces cost and increases efficiency and expediency. We can get it out to you for less. While that might sound a mite dismissive, know that the real branding and customization in many of our products comes in the finishing.

Check out the example to the side. Custom pads created for Habitat for Humanity in their signature blue, with a quote from former President Carter on the inside facing the keys to the home. It's a total package that is not only a keepsake for the recipient, but a marketing piece in it's own right as well.

Adapting to the Market

It's been a crazy year, and things don't really show any signs of slowing down. The services provided by nonprofits will be more in demand while donations will be down with the economy. However, the need to maintain branded materials won't disappear. And it might just prove to be more important than ever to maintain visibility and stay top of mind for those who do have the means to donate.

Make the most of what you can, and contact Sunrise to help in your packaging needs!
