Sunrise Packaging is a leading packaging solutions provider based in Blaine, Minnesota. Sunrise works with major companies from around the Twin Cities and the nation.

Schedule: 2-3 days/week, up to 20 hours/week
Salary/Wages: $8-10/hr depending on experience

Position Detail:
We are currently looking for a marketing and communications intern. The position would last 3-6 months and provide the student with the opportunity for experience in a company setting. The student would have the opportunity to build his or her resume and portfolio and would leave the company with the option of a reference and/or letter of recommendation. Duties will include:

• Administrative support of the sales force: helping with communication to clients
• Maintaining customer relationship management (CRM) system
• Writing copy for marketing Web pages, wikis, blogs, newsletter and other marketing media.
• Completing competitive marketing research
• Participating in sales force and marketing meetings as well as brainstorming sessions
• Independent work on individual creative projects
• Gaining public relations experience in the form of writing, distributing and following-up on news releases (if this experience is so desired)
• Working with the marketing director on various other marketing projects

Job Requirements:
To apply, you must...

• Be a current student of a college or university and be available two or three days a week to come to our offices
• Have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and other basic computer functions
• Be able to use major internet search engines efficiently
• Be able to self-motivate and proactively engage in the mission of our office and the day-to-day needs of the organization
• Have excellent command of the English language
• Work quickly and efficiently and have a sense of humor
• Have the ability to work independently and to prioritize
• Be creative and able to generate new ideas

We are looking for a marketing and communications intern who is energetic, organized, resourceful, persistent and able to work under deadlines. He or she should be eager to learn in a fast-paced environment and be able to prioritize and focus on tasks. With projects and tasks requiring communication with customers, external associations and field sales, the candidate must be able to act in a professional manner. He or she should have a focus in marketing, communications, business or related fields.
