Sunrise Now Offers Mini USB / Flash Memory Cases!

Flash drives are meant to be small and portable, so not everyone will want a case as large as a DVD case, but they would still like to keep their devices protected. Therefore, we are proud to announce the newest addition to our USB / Flash Memory product line: the Mini USB / Flash Memory Case!

These clear thermoformed cases are constructed from high-quality vinyl materials and are small enough to fit in your pocket, being just 4.75″ x 3.438″ x .563″ in size. The molded locking system keeps the case shut to prevent your devices from falling out and getting lost or damaged. By effectively protecting your devices, you can save money by reducing the amount of replacement devices needed and not have to worry about losing all of your important files and information.

The foam tray insert does not need to be die-cut specifically to fit your device, but instead it holds your device tightly against the case. By not having to die-cut the foam tray, it makes the cases much more convenient. They can be ordered faster and at a lower price by being a stock product. These cases could also be reused for a multiple amount of different flash memory devices or other small items. Since SD memory cards are much thinner than flash drives, they, or other small items, would require two foam trays to be securely held in place.

The clear material allows you to prominently display your devices or your own artwork, which can be placed underneath the foam tray.

Flash Memory Cards: Which Are Right For You?

Flash memory cards are used for a wide variety of electronic devices, including digital cameras, camcorders, PDA’s, organizers, cell phones, mp3 players, and digital picture frames. There is also a wide selection of flash memory card formats, so how do you know which card will work best for you?

Flash memory cards range in different sizes for different devices, as well as in memory capacity that can be stored. Here are some of the types available:

Secure Digital (SD) Memory Cards. These cards come in three different physical sizes: SD, miniSD, and microSD. The SD cards are typically used in most digital cameras, video cameras, mp3 players, and digital picture frames. The miniSD and microSD are used in smaller devices, such as cell phones. They can be used with an adapter to fit in an SD slot. These are available in three different storage capacities:Standard SD (up to 2GB), High-Capacity SDHC (4GB or higher), or the new eXtended Capacity (32GB-2TB).
CompactFlash (CF) Memory Cards. These cards are used with high-end digital cameras and digital SLR cameras. They are available in capacities up to 48GB.
Memory Sticks. These cards can only be used with Sony digital cameras and other compatible Sony electronic devices. They are available in capacities up to 16GB.
xD Picture Cards. These cards are used in newer Olympus and Fuji digital cameras, Olympus digital voice recorders, and Fuji mp3 players. They are available in capacities up to 2GB.

You need to make sure that the card that you choose is compatible with your electronic device. Another major thing to take into consideration is how much storage space you need. The number of megapixels the camera has, the resolution of pictures being taken, and the amount of pictures you want to be able to take will determine the memory storage capacity that you will need. If you are recording videos, you will definitely need a memory card with a higher capacity to be able to store longer, high-quality videos.

Fun With Thumb Drives

USB drives, jump drives, flash memory devices, etc. are becoming more and more popular. And we all love their portability and ever-increasing memory capacities.

Jump drives are typically rectangular in shape. Their average size is around 2.75” x .75” x .25”. They typically come in, black, white, red, or blue. They range in memory capacity from very small (64Mb) to very large 64 Gb and growing every day.

As we have mentioned before, there are almost unlimited uses for external memory, and jump drives are used by almost everyone. So with the proliferation of USB drives, some creative folks have had some fun with designing flash memory. One site, USB Geek, offers some really creative jump drives:

Who Uses USB / Flash Memory Devices?

Flash memory devices are so handy that anyone who is able to use a computer or electronic device could find a use for them. NAND flash memory devices include USB flash drives / jump drives and SD format memory cards. SD memory cards also include SDHC, MiniSD, and SDmicro cards. These devices are used with computers, mobile phones, digital cameras and camcorders, digital picture frames, mp3 players, etc.

Most students use some form of a flash memory device. USB jump drives are very helpful to work on papers and projects that are still in progress, especially if the student does not have a computer of his or her own. It is a good way to save old projects for future reference without having to take up precious computer memory.

Authors and writers also use jump drives for their work.This way, they can take their work along with them anywhere that they can find inspiration to write. Some also back-up all of their writings on a jump drive and store it in a security box at the bank to prevent loss/damage.

It is also especially important for small businesses to use flash memory USB jump drives as an emergency back-up for their data and vital information. It would be a disaster to lose that information, so it would be a good idea to back it up on a jump drive once a day or even just once a week.

Memory cards are very handy for photographers to use. Most cameras take the SD format memory cards, which can store many pictures. They can also store pictures on any flash memory device to save memory on the computer.

Flash memory devices are especially helpful to all of these kinds of people, but they can be useful for most anyone.
