Looking for the most innovative in media packaging? Try the new CD/DVD Wrap! You can customize this to be just how you would like it.
The CD/DVD Wrap is made from a piece of plastic wrap. This could be bought in a variety of different colors to spice up your discs!
The CD/DVD Wrap could be wrapped around the disc alone, or you could include a backing for extra support. A piece of cardboard would be perfect if you are looking for strength and durability. You could even cut the cardboard in any shape you like to give your packaging that unique touch. Feel free to draw or add artwork to the back to make it even more distinctive. Once you are done decorating, just place your disc on the cardboard and add our CD/DVD Wrap around it. You now have a creative form of space-saving packaging that allows you to display the disc!
Okay, so this isn’t an actual product, but we thought we’d lighten up in honor of April Fool’s Day. Go ahead and pull a harmless prank on your friends and have some fun. For more information on our actual CD/DVD packaging, visit our stock products page.

Your packaging is what first communicates with your customers. Obviously we feel that this message can not be stressed too much… At Sunrise, packaging is our passion.
And we are not the only people passionate about packaging. The Dieline.com recently wrote about artist, Justin Gignac, who packages and sells garbage from the streets of New York City.
Would you pay $10 for a clear cube filled with trash? What if it came from NYC and you knew it wouldn’t smell? What if it sold for $100? What if it looked pretty? What if it was art? Would you buy it then?
Mr. Gignac’s art may be an extreme example… However, if a picture is worth a thousand words, this cube of garbage selling for $100 speaks volumes about creativity and the value of packaging…

Having green packaging allows you to help the environment, but is it worth it financially for your company? We have been hearing a lot more about being green and environmentally-friendly the past few years from numerous companies and industries. Is it just a bunch of talk, or do people really care about the environment? How significant is sustainable packaging to consumers?

- (Picture from The Pohly Company)
Scott Young and Perception Research Services studied packaging and the environment with extensive research over two years. What they discovered is that most important to shoppers making purchasing decisions is the overall package appearance and functional concerns. Once these needs are met, they will factor in the environmental considerations. This makes green packaging the deciding factor for shoppers trying to pick between two products with equal appearance and functionality. Similarly, shoppers do not want to buy an eco-friendly item that looks and feels “cheap”. Therefore, it is important companies to offer both eye-appealing and functional packaging, as well as packaging that is good for the environment.
One more thing that Young discovered was that only 11% of shoppers thought that they knew what “sustainable packaging” was, and only about half of those actually knew what it meant. It is important for companies to educate consumers about what being environmentally-friendly means and use terms that they will understand.
A.T Kearney also performed a study and came to the conclusion that environmentally-friendly companies performed much better than their competition over a three-month and six-month period and did not have “value erosion”. Even in our struggling economy, green companies are performing above-average in the financial markets.
The eco-friendly trend does not seem to be disappearing anytime soon. Environmentally-friendly packaging does play a vital role in purchasing decisions and is helping companies beat out their competition.

Flash drives are meant to be small and portable, so not everyone will want a case as large as a DVD case, but they would still like to keep their devices protected. Therefore, we are proud to announce the newest addition to our USB / Flash Memory product line: the Mini USB / Flash Memory Case!
These clear thermoformed cases are constructed from
high-quality vinyl materials and are small enough to fit in your pocket, being just 4.75″ x 3.438″ x .563″ in size. The molded locking system keeps the case shut to prevent your devices from falling out and getting lost or damaged. By effectively protecting your devices, you can save money by reducing the amount of replacement devices needed and not have to worry about losing all of your important files and information.
The foam tray insert does not need to be die-cut specifically to fit your device, but instead it holds your device tightly against the case. By not having to die-cut the foam tray, it makes the cases much more convenient. They can be ordered faster and
at a lower price by being a stock product. These cases could also be reused for a multiple amount of different flash memory devices or other small items. Since SD memory cards are much thinner than flash drives, they, or other small items, would require two foam trays to be securely held in place.
The clear material allows you to prominently display your devices or your own artwork, which can be placed underneath the foam tray.
If you are looking for a smaller case to protect and store your flash memory devices or other small items, this could be the option for you! For more information, visit our stock USB / flash memory packaging page.

Ever wonder what to do with all of your old DVD cases when you switch to storing your discs in multi-disc DVD cases
or DVD albums? They are not curbside recyclable, but there are still other options to get rid of your old cases without having to throw them in a landfill.
Reuse
First, a good idea is to see if anyone else can reuse your old DVD cases. A number of places would love to take them off of your hands:
- libraries,
- schools, and
- churches
These types of organizations always need replacement DVD cases for their media collections. Some schools have classes where students create videos on DVD and they could use cases to display and protect their projects.
Donate
Another place to donate would be Goodwill or another thrift store. They receive donations of discs without cases or with broken cases, and it would be much easier to sell a DVD with a case. They could also just sell the empty cases. Video rental stores or any store that sells used DVDs would also gladly take your used cases as replacements.
Or there are websites like Freecycle where you can post items that you would rather give away than create waste by throwing them in the garbage.
Recycle
If the cases are broken or they cannot be reused for some reason, there are still other alternatives to throwing them away. You can’t put DVD cases in your curbside recycling bin, but you can check with your local recycling center to see if they will take them. Earth911.com can help you find a local recycling center for certain types of materials.
There are other centers that we found where you can send in your old DVD cases. There is not charge, but they may ask for a small donation to help cover costs:
Plastic Recycling, Inc.
2015 S. Pennsylvania St.
Indianapolis, IN 46225
CD Recycling Center
68H Stiles Road
Salem, NH 03079
There are plenty of options available to reduce waste by having your DVD cases reused or recycled, rather than just throwing them in the garbage. Just another way you can be more environmentally-friendly.

Sure biodegradable Eco-Binders sound like a great idea for the environment, but I bet you’re wondering if they will actually last or if they will simply just fall apart on you. You should not have to give up durability in order to be environmentally-friendly, so we decided to put our Eco-Binders to the test.
One of our Client Relations Representatives, Kelly Jo, took one of each of our paperboard Eco-Binders home for her kids to use for the school. Day after day, all semester long, these binders were thrown around and squished in backpacks–we all know how kids treat their homework.
With this kind of handling, would our Eco-Binders be able to compare to plastic binders and last the semester?
So how did they turn out? As you can see, the Eco-Binders, with some added artwork, went through plenty of wear and tear. Some of the edges were starting to tear after so much use, but they were able to last strong through the whole semester.
We were happy to hear that our Eco-Binders lasted through the handling of Kelly Jo’s middle school kids, but we wondered how they could be even stronger.
A new idea was to make binders from heavy-duty corrugated cardboard. These would be even harder to destroy, while still being good to the environment.
It just goes to show that you don’t have to give up durability in order to be environmentally friendly.

Are you in the middle of spring cleaning and need to create more space? If you have a large music collection, your jewel cases can take up a lot of room. One way to condense a large CD collection into a smaller sapce is by using multi-disc cases.
Also, with so many people living life on the go, they want to be able to take their CD’s with them wit
hout having to worry about the discs or the cases being ruined.
Portability and durability are important to find in a CD case, while still being able to have a professional look.
We are now offering multi-disc CD cases that take up less space than individual jewel cases and are also more convenient to carry.
These black cases snap shut like a DVD case and feature an outside clear overlay to display cover artwork. And you can’t go wrong by saving space with a 16-disc CD case that takes up the same room as three standard sized jewel cases or six slim jewel cases.
By having a durable case that can hold multiple discs, you can take your CD’s with you wherever you go. And when you eventually put them away, you’ll have room to collect even more!

For the past year, we have been hearing about the new SuperSpeed USB (USB 3.0). It will have many advances for both consumers and adopters of the new technology, such as much higher speeds and enhanced power efficiency.
The speculations were finally released in November by the USB 3.0 Promoter Group, which includes companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Microsoft, NEC, ST-NXP Wireless, and Texas Instruments. They transitioned the management of the specification to the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF).
With technology today, people are expecting and using much higher quality images and sound. These larger files take an extensive amount of time to transfer. But with USB 3.0, you do not have to worry about that. Data transfer rates are up to ten times higher than with USB 2.0. It has new power features, such as energy-saving sleep modes, which is great when looking for green technology.
Consumer products could appear as early as 2010. The first Superspeed devices are predicted to be flash memory devices, external hard drives, mp3 players, and digital cameras. As we wait for these new devices, don’t forget about your flash memory packaging options!

Branding, Marketing, and Sales are intimately intertwined and for the most part, what you say about one, you can say about the other. I get a lot of newsletters on a variety of topics. And one topic is Sales.
The prevailing message since October has been: “Get out there and do something – anything – to stay in front of your customers.”
One way to stand out is to revise your packaging. New packaging shakes things up and gets you noticed.
You can do something simple like keeping the same shape and size while changing the graphics however you can be bold and completely change the size, shape, colors, texture, and message of your packaging.
If you choose the latter, you could design a limited edition, upscale package that is designed to be a collector’s item.
Whether you have a series of CDs and DVDs, a book, other printed materials, or a product composed of several elements, you need packaging and you deserve the best.
Here are two examples to get the creative juices working – Binders and Boxes:
The middle binder is a printed clear overlay binder that can be customized to its contents with a printed cover insert… A great way to maximize using it company-wide.

This box uses canvas-wrap material and a rope handle to create a unique sensory experience with users?

When you’re ready to shake things up, Sunrise is here to help you create the right packaging for your product.
